COCA-I Camp Spirit Award

The Camp SPIRIT award is based on the following criteria:

Strength of Nomination

• 2 pts - application only
• 5 pts - application and one support document
• 10 pts - application and multiple supporting documents

Position at Camp

• 1pt - Paid staff member
• 5pts - Volunteer staff member

Years of Service to the Camp

• 2 pts - 1 -2 yrs of service
• 4 pts - 3-4 yrs of service
• 6 pts - 5-6 yrs of service
• 8 pts - 7-9 yrs of service
• 10pts - 10 + yrs of service

Role in the Camp: ( 2pts for each role)

• Peripheral behind-the-scenes (or not present at/during camp)
• Just show up at camp
• Involved in preparing or planning
• Highly-involved at camp
• Do they provide leadership for camp? In what capacity?
• Camp spirit: fun-loving and positive

Year-round Support of Camp: (2pts for each)

• Involved in fund raising
• Involved in program development
• Involved in staff recruitment or development
• Serve on the local camp Board of Directors
• Camp spirit: fun-loving and positive vs. stick-in-the-mud or swears-a-lot
